CLASSICALIA INTERNATIONAL MUSIC COMPETITION (CIMC) IN COOPERATION WITH JEUNESSES MUSICALES RULES & REGULATIONS

Please read the following Rules & Regulations carefully. By registering and submitting your payment, you acknowledge that you have read and agree the Rules & Regulations outlined below.

1. Registration: Any participant who meets the Eligibility Requirements set forth below, can audition for CIMC online by uploading the audition video via YouTube. All entries must be received no later than May 1, 2020 (“Registration Deadline”). A confirmation email will be generated once the online registration is complete. CIMC reserves the right to accept or reject any application in its sole discretion. It is the sole responsibility of the Participant to ensure correct age categories and timings are entered on the registration form. CIMC cannot assume responsibility or make adjustments for incorrect entries.

2. Eligibility:
a. CIMC is open to all instrumentalists and singers in the following age groups: Group 1 – 11 years old and under;
Group 2 – 12−17 years old; Group 3 – 18−23 years old, exception: singers 18−25 years old. Age is calculated as of January 1, 2020. Group 4 – Beyond the Scores, no age restriction, please see below for requirements
b. By the Registration Deadline, participant must be of the appropriate age for the group entered. Incorrectly entered age group will result in disqualification.
c. To accept an invitation to participate in Round 2 and 3 of CIMC (currently scheduled to begin in November 2020, the participant must be able to demonstrate to the satisfaction of CIMC that they do not have any contractual arrangement that would prohibit them from fully participating in CIMC and/or entering into an contracts required by CIMC.
d. Neither participant nor any of immediate family members or members of their household (whether related or not), may be an employee, officer or director of CIMC, any person or entity involved in the casting, auditions, development, production, distribution, or other exploitation of CIMC or any variation thereof; any known, major sponsor of CIMC; or any person or entity supplying services or prizes to CIMC.
e. Participants studying under the guidance of the Judges must notify CIMC and will be evaluated by a different Judges.

3. Payment: Entries may be paid by credit card or PayPal. All fees are non-refundable, except where the application is rejected by CIMC administration. No receipts are issued.

4. Recording Requirements (Round 1)
a. YouTube video
b. The contestant must be clearly visible, no special effects are permitted
c. Time limits must be strictly observed. Group 1: 10 minutes or less; Group 2: 15 minutes or less; Groups 3 & 4: 20 minutes or less.

5. Judges’ decisions are final and in their sole discretion. Each participant is judged based on the highest artistic standards with regard to musicianship, technical proficiency and stage performance. CIMC reserves the right to substitute or appoint additional Judges at any time at its sole discretion.

6.Competition Proceedings:
Round 1: Participants must submit video recording of their performance (as outlined in item 4), accompanied by the registration form and payment in full online at __________________ no later than May 1, 2020. Finalists who qualify to proceed to Round 2 will be announced via email on or before____________, 20.
Groups 1, 2 &3: Any standard repertoire is accepted.
Group 4: W.A. Mozart was a rounded musician who composed for many instruments in many different genres. Group 4 is open to the contestants who feel they have a unique and creative way of interpreting classical music. The only limit is the imagination.
Round 2: 48 participants in each group (144 total) from each continent will perform live in front of the Judges. Recommended repertoire: Groups 1, 2 &3: Any standard repertoire in its original form from Baroque or Classical periods. Group 4: Own choice
Time limits: Group 1- 10 minutes or less; Group 2- 15 minutes or less; Groups 3 & 4- 20 minutes or less Round 3: 4 participants in each age group from each continent (36 total) and 4 participants in Group 4 from each continent, will perform live in front of the Judges. This round will be recorded for future televised transmission. 6 participants from each group will be selected. Recommended repertoire: Any standard repertoire in its original form from Romantic or Post- Romantic periods. Group 4: Own choice Time limits: Group 1 – 15 minutes or less; Group 2 – 20 minutes or less; Group 3 & 4 – 25 minutes or less  Round 4 (Grand Final): 6 participants in each age group and 6 participants in Group 4. Recommended Repertoire: one movement of any concerto or orchestral composition. Orchestral part to be played on the piano. This Round will be recorded for television transmission. 1st, 2nd, 3rd places will be announced in each group.

7. Memorization in all Rounds is compulsory.

8. Live Round Requirements
A. The live rounds will be taped for future TV transmission. By participating in CIMC participants and/or their parent guardian give CIMC permission to telecast their performances without further consultation and without any monetary gain to them at any time in the future.
B. Participants must arrive at least 30 minutes before their scheduled performance time. Instrumentalists must provide their own accompanists and page-turner, if needed. Taped accompaniment is not permitted.
C. Participants may be accompanied by ONE (1) PERSON, who must arrive with them during check-in. For participants under 18 years of age, the accompanying guest must be the parent, legal guardian, or appointed legal guardian. The APPOINTED GUARDIAN MUST BE AT LEAST 21 YEARS OF AGE.
D. Items required for participation in live rounds:
1. Participants must bring a valid form of ID to show proof of your age (for example, a driver’s license, birth certificate or a school ID card).
2. Each Participant or their legal guardian is required to sign a Personal Release form prior to participating in Round 2. The Personal Release can be found at ______________ Please bring the filled out and SIGNED Personal Release form to the audition. For minor participants (under 18 years of age), both participant and parent or legal guardian MUST sign the Personal Release form.
E. Dress Code at Live Rounds. Participants should not wear any clothing or bring any items that have designer names, corporate or sports team names or logos, copy righted images, celebrity names or images (living or dead), cartoon character images or inappropriate messages or words (for example, profanity). If participant wears such clothing, they may be required to remove it, turn it inside out or put on additional clothing to cover it.
F. NO CHILDREN UNDER 3 YEARS OF AGE WILL BE ALLOWED AT1. THE AUDITION VENUES.
G. No photography or audio/video taping of performances, competitors or judges is permitted.
H. CIMC does not take responsibility for any items brought in to the audition venue. All bags are subject to search at any time.
I. Cell phones and/or any other electronic devises must be turned off. Audio or video recording is not permitted at any time during the audition process.

9. Participants are responsible for all their expenses related to their registration, participation and performance(s) with CIMC.

10. In the case of unforeseeable events, CIMC reserves the right to reschedule or cancel the competition.

11. AIMC is not responsible for any personal injury, loss or damage to personal property, including instruments.

12. No Soliciting or Promotional Material is permitted at any CIMC events unless previously approved by CIMC administration in writing.

13. Some CIMC events will be photographed and/or recorded for marketing, promotional or fundraising purposes on any media, including CIMC website, Facebook, other social media platforms, and press releases, without any monetary or other obligation to the competitors or third parties.

14. AIMC has the sole discretion to make determinations of participant eligibility, which are binding and final in all respects, and reserves the right to change any of the eligibility requirements at any time. CIMC has the sole discretion at any time to render ineligible and disqualify any person who, in CIMC’s sole discretion, is sufficiently acquainted with the development, production, administration, judging, exhibition or other exploitation of CIMC such that his or her participation in the Program could create the appearance of impropriety. CIMC reserves the right to exclude, in its sole and absolute discretion, any individual from any of the auditions for any reason or for no reason at all, including without limitation, violation of any portion of rules and regulations, or tampering with the entry process or the audition process. CIMC reserves the right to amend the terms and conditions at any time. Being chosen to audition and/or compete at any level in the process does NOT ensure that a contestant will be selected to continue to the next stage.
